Message from the Principal’s Office
Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,
I am delighted to share some recent developments and updates from our school community.
Student Support Group (SSG)
I am pleased to report that our recent Student Support Group Day was a tremendous success, with an impressive 80% attendance rate. This day provided a vital opportunity for teachers, parents, and support staff to collaborate closely, ensuring that each student receives the personalized support they need to thrive academically and emotionally. The high attendance demonstrates our community's commitment to student well-being and success. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this important event. If you are yet to schedule a meeting please reach out to your teacher.
The Importance of Compass
I would like to remind all parents about the critical role of our parent communication platform, Compass. This tool is essential for staying informed about your child’s progress, school events, and important announcements. Regular use of Compass allows you to:
- Monitor your child's attendance and academic performance.
- Receive updates on school activities and upcoming events.
- Communicate directly with teachers and school administration.
Active engagement with Compass ensures that you are always in the loop and can support your child's educational journey effectively. If you have not yet set up your Compass account or need assistance, please contact the school office.
New NDIS Facebook Page
We are excited to announce the launch of our new NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Facebook page. This platform is designed to foster a supportive online community where parents and caregivers can share success stories, ask questions, and connect with others navigating the NDIS. It will also serve as a resource hub, providing updates and information relevant to our community. We encourage you to join the page, contribute your experiences, and take advantage of the collective knowledge and support available.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive school community.
Warm regards,
Chris Murray
Acting Principal

Our Amazing Class 4B was the embodiment of ⭐ yellow today. ⭐
News from Prep C
In Prep C we have been learning about the 5 Senses. This week we learnt about taste. We got to taste different fruit. It was really fun. We have also been learning about our names and what sound our name begins with. We got to trace our names using shaving cream. We love messy play!
We have also enjoyed building MAT MAN as part of our OT sessions with Anj.
News from 2A
In 2A this week we were learning the letter sound V.
As a special activity we went out into the playground and collected leaves and placed them in a vase.
We enjoy the activity so much that we made a tree for our amazing birds to live in from the story “how the birds got their colours.
News from 3A
At this point in the semester, our classroom 3A is abuzz with learning activities. We're fully immersed in our studies, delving deep into various subjects. In literacy, we're diving into the world of phonics, honing our writing skills, and mastering the art of matching concepts. Each day, we're pushing ourselves to achieve our learning objectives to the fullest. In numeracy, we've been actively engaged in exploring the realm of numbers, delving into topics such as money concept, addition, subtraction, and eagerly anticipating the plethora of topics yet to come.
Outside of our classroom learning, we find immense fulfilment in our physical education sessions, which are currently focused on PE Term. Engaging in activities that get our bodies moving and energized is not only enjoyable but also crucial for our overall well-being. Likewise, the musical realm provides us with a sense of joy and anticipation, offering a creative outlet where we can express ourselves freely through sound and rhythm. Art class is another cherished aspect of our school experience, as it allows us to unleash our creativity and explore different forms of expression through various mediums.
Moreover, the SWPBS program, standing for School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support, serves as a guiding framework for us to navigate our emotions and interactions effectively. Through this program, we learn valuable skills and strategies to regulate our feelings, resolve conflicts, and cultivate positive relationships, not only within the school environment but also in our interactions with the wider community. It instils in us the values of empathy, respect, and responsibility, shaping us into more compassionate and socially aware individuals who contribute positively to our school and society as a whole.

News from 9/10A
This term, the Year 9/10 As, have some exciting actions planned to enrich their classroom reading for enjoyment and academic performance. To support their literacy learning, they have decided reading buddy system and appointed two student teachers. Reading for enjoyment has proven to be instrumental in enhancing academic performance and nurturing a lifelong love for learning. This will promoting stronger comprehension skills, vocabulary acquisition, and critical thinking abilities among students under the moto ‘the more we read, the better’!
As part of our commitment to fostering a love for literature, we have introduced an in-class program that allows students to dedicate 20 minutes daily reading and discuss what they are reading with their peers and student teacher assigned to them.
News from 12B
12A and I have had a busy couple of weeks. We have been learning about different workplace environments and effective ways to deal with conflict in the workplace and at school. We have also been further developing our leadership skills by discussing what makes a great leader and ways we and others can become them. The captains in our class have been great at reflecting on what makes them good leaders. With the OT and Speech team we have continued to work on our money and ordering skills and have now added the correct way to wash up our dishes to our routines. We have been building on our writing skills by expanding on and creating sentences using correct structure and punctuation. We continue to enjoy our external programs including Waverley Industries, Make N Bake and Gumbuya World. Our Travel Training group went to Valorous Place last week to look at post school options and to participate in various activities which included making slime, changing the oil on a motor bike and frothing dishwashing detergent at their coffee van. We have also started our weekly swimming session which we are all enjoying, and I am loving being in the pool each week.
