Welcome back to Marnebek 2025

Message from the Principal’s Office

Welcome to the New School Year!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Community,

Welcome to the start of another exciting school year! It has been wonderful to see our students return with such enthusiasm and energy, and we extend a particularly warm welcome to our new Prep students and their families. Watching our youngest learners take their first steps in their educational journey has been a joy, and we look forward to supporting them as they settle into school life.

The year has begun on a positive note, with students and staff engaging in learning and activities with great enthusiasm. We are excited about what lies ahead, with many exciting events planned throughout the year to engage and connect our school community.

One of our first community events will be our Welcome BBQ on Monday, 17th February, at 3:00 PM. We encourage all families to join us for a free BBQ and drinks, providing a wonderful opportunity to meet staff, connect with other families, and strengthen our school community. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!

Additionally, we held Student Support Group (SSG) meetings on Monday with great success. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity for parents, teachers, and support staff to collaborate on individualised plans to support student success. We appreciate the participation and engagement of families in these discussions and look forward to continuing to work together to create a positive learning experience for all students.

Today our senior students participated in the first SSSSA interschool competition of the year. 50 students travelled to the State Basketball Centre in Knox and represented Marnebek School with pride. We look forward to the progress throughout the term.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Grade 3/4 PLC Students Enjoy Food Tech & Therapy Dog Sessions! 🐶🥞🍎

Our Grade 3/4 PLC students had a fantastic time in their Food Tech specialist class, making delicious pancakes and fresh fruit salad! 🥞🍓🍌 They loved measuring, mixing, and cooking, and of course, enjoying their tasty creations. It was great to see them working together, following instructions, and developing their independence in the kitchen!

Meanwhile, some students also had the opportunity to spend time with our therapy dog 🐶💙. These sessions provided a calming and engaging experience, helping students build confidence, communication skills, and emotional well-being.

A great week of hands-on learning and fun for everyone! 🌟

CLASS 5B CHECKING OUT OUR NEW PLAYGROUND

On the 4th of February we went to the new playground, and we had fun. It is new at Marnebek School. We took photos of us having fun. We played tag, in the tunnel and looked through sneaky holes and the binoculars. We sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star into the sound tube.

HORTICULTURE CLASS EXCURSION

On the day of the Horticulture class excursion, students had the opportunity to engage with various aspects of plant cultivation and care. The trip was designed to enhance the students' understanding of horticultural practices, sustainability, and the environment.

Students were encouraged to observe the different species of plants and ask questions during the excursion. This experience was aimed to foster a deeper appreciation for horticulture and the role it plays in our ecosystem.

Basketball is back!

The excitement of the season returns as teams gear up for competitive play. We can look forward to thrilling matches, impressive performances, and the camaraderie of the basketball community. Whether you’re a player or a supporter, it's time to hit the courts and celebrate the sport.
