Message from the Principal’s Office

Liam Mara

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week at Marnebek we congratulated our new school leaders across the four learning neighbourhoods. Student candidates presented their fantastic speeches to their peers on how they will lead our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. It took great courage to deliver their presentations and I commend all our candidates for wonderful speeches. The future is in great hands.

Next week we are holding parent information sessions as we head closer to the decanting of the school buildings. The Q & A sessions are for families of students going to Cranbourne PS and Cranbourne West Secondary. Details as follows:

Wednesday 16th March @ 5pm – Cranbourne West Secondary College

Thursday 17th march @5pm – Cranbourne Primary School

Finally, our 2022 School Council election process has been completed. We are thrilled to announce Joanne Pilley as the successful applicant, welcome Joanne! We look forward to you being part of the council and the future direction of the school.

I wish a happy long weekend to our students, families and staff. Be safe and see you all next Tuesday for another exciting week at Marnebek School.

Kind regards,
Liam Mara | Assistant Principal

Clean Up Australia Day

This year, Marnebek registered and participated in Australia’s Clean Up Australia Event on Friday 11th March 2022.

All classes were provided with gloves and a recyclable bag to make one of the biggest contributions they can, to make sure their playgrounds and classroom environments are kept in the best, working order.

Students were also provided with hard copy activities, (printable) and a list of songs to play to their students on the day.

Students learnt some very important life skills including:

  • Sorting Rubbish into Waste, Recycle and Compost Bins,

  • Making a Pledge - to clean up their environment and include ways they will keep your environment clean every day. Include reasons for the importance of a clean environment.

  • How to care for the playground, school and classroom environment – including learning to wipe down the classroom tables and help make their classrooms clean, picking up rubbish and re-setting the learning environment to optimise learning!Even though we celebrated this event on the one day, we recognise this as a whole school commitment every single day of the school year and will continue to look after our school environment and we hope all students will continue to look after the playgrounds and classrooms into the future!

Thanks everyone for your support and contribution to the day!

Welcome to Grade 3/4 D

Classroom 3/4 D has been investigating the human body during their science lessons. Over the last few weeks we have been investigating different parts of the body. So far we have investigated the bones, the circulatory system (the heart) and the digestive system.

We have been watching videos in class that explain the body parts to us in a child friendly way. To consolidate our learning, we have been representing the body parts in a creative way. After learning about our bones, we went outside and drew our skeletons and bones with chalk.

After learning about the heart, we decided to paint the heart using red and pink paint. Next week we will be looking at creating a healthy food pyramid as we are looking at our digestive system. We will be discussing what foods we need to eat to support the health of our digestive systems. Please enjoy some of the photos of our work!

Olivia Bargon | 3/4 D Teacher

Great work 3/4 D, keep up the fantastic learning!
