Message from the Principal’s Office
Mandy Thomas
Dear Parents and Carers,
Term 2 has seen the start of what is to be an exciting time for the entire Marnebek School community. The builders have moved in!
At New Holland Drive, the Easter Holidays saw the removal of the classrooms that previously housed the majority of our Year 5/6 students. Those portable classrooms were lifted off their foundations and transported to their new position on the oval at the rear of the school. These buildings will become the home to our students in the Year 1/2 classes within the next few weeks. Corrigan’s Road campus also saw the removal of some of the portable buildings and last week, welcomed the students of Years 7 and 8.
While our Prep students have enjoyed a familiar return to their school week in the BER building, some year groups have already moved to a new, but familiar base within the New Holland Drive campus. Others have begun their journey at Cranbourne Primary School or Cranbourne West Secondary College.
At New Holland Drive, the students have already seen massive changes to the footprint of the school. They no longer play in the same areas as before. They enter through a different gate, some travel to school on a different bus or by a different route.
The students and staff have demonstrated great resilience and in true Marnebek style, have risen to the challenge and had a fabulous first two weeks back in class. A sense of calmness and productivity can be felt as we visit the classrooms. The students are engaged in their learning and enjoying being back.
We all have an incredible opportunity to develop new skills, form new relationships and overcome challenges while witnessing our new, state of the art facilities take shape.
As we embark on our own journey of celebration and reflection, this year’s Education Week runs from 22nd – 28th May. The theme, ‘150 Years of Public Education’ commemorates the past, celebrates the present and imagines the future of education in Victoria.
Education Week is an opportunity for Marnebek School to highlight our education journey.
This year, Marnebek School is 21 years old. Over this time hundreds of students have enjoyed the wonderful programs on offer and made life-long friendships along the way.
We will be celebrating Education Week by taking advantage of the capital works and looking back at Marnebek’s journey so far and also looking ahead to the future of our school.
Kind regards,
Mandy Thomas | Acting Assistant Principal

Greetings from Prep A by Yohana Ziem | Teacher | PLC Leader
Prep A is learning to identify and name circles, triangles, squares and rectangles. Using materials such as sensory jelly shapes, posters, books, and games, the Prep A students are exposed to various forms to help them analyse shapes in multiple sizes and orientations.
News from 3/4 A
In 3/4 A we have settled back into Term 2 nicely. It has been exciting seeing all the students adapting to their new routines and watching all the building works happening around the campus.
The students have enjoyed our first full week and have been engaged in morning circle, table top activities and playing with the other students.
We hope all our wonderful mums have lovely Mother’s Day!

Kristine Bordador - Physiotherapist
My name is Kristine and I am the school physiotherapist. My favourite part about being a physiotherapist is thinking outside of the box to engage students while helping them improve their movement. It is very rewarding to know that I am able to help someone progress to towards their goals.
During my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors with my family & friends. My favourite place to be is at the beach. Sometimes I use my stand-up paddle-board on the water and other times, I like to snorkel and try to look for different kinds of sea-life. If I’m not at the beach, I’m exploring hiking trails, climbing rocks and camping. I also enjoy playing all sports, including volleyball, basketball and Australian rules football. I’m very competitive but I always prefer to play in a team because I think it’s important to support each other.
Here are a few fun facts about me: My favourite colour is blue. I LOVE pizza (especially with pineapple)! I like to listen to music while cooking. Lastly, I love to travel because I enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
