Student Representative Council

Marnebek NEWS Student Council

Having the chance to be heard is integral to any free society. At Marnebek, we positively shape key educational outcomes by encouraging students to share their thoughts and opinions.

Our Student Voice program facilitates students’ active participation in school, their community and the education system. The program works to give students, very literally, a voice in these groups’ decision-making processes. By allowing students to put forward their views, concerns and ideas, Student Voice aims to collectively influence educational decisions.

Marnebek promotes the Student Voice program through the Student Representative Council (SRC), which is a school body made up of various senior, middle and junior students at Marnebek. These students meet together periodically to discuss issues faced by students and how to positively influence the community and bring it closer to its students.

The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organising and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

Becoming a student representative at Marnebek enables students to develop and strengthen leadership skills and build their confidence. Student representatives can then assist fellow students to have their voice heard and support them to participate in events for student leaders.

By empowering students’ voices, our Student Voice program and Student Representative Council are working to change the future of education at the local, state and even national level, while building leaders of the future along the way!
