Message from the Principal’s Office

Dear Families and Friends,

I am delighted to share that we have hit the ground running as we embark on Term 4! It has been an amazing start, with our students settling into their learning and actively participating in some truly exciting events.

Recently, our Indigenous students had the opportunity to celebrate at the Marrung Network Celebration. It was a wonderful day filled with cultural recognition and pride. Additionally, our senior hospitality team did an outstanding job catering for 300 students from other schools, showcasing their culinary skills and teamwork.

This week, we also hosted our vibrant annual Street Stalls, an event brilliantly organised by our senior students. It was heartwarming to see so many parents and carers in attendance, supporting our students and the school community.

As we continue through this busy term, we are looking forward to the upcoming Grade 6 and Year 12 graduations, which are always key highlights of our school year. Our end-of-year celebration promises to be another memorable occasion, bringing everyone together to reflect on the achievements of our students.

We will also be hosting various information sessions for students transitioning to different areas of the school, as well as welcoming new families and introducing key programs. Your involvement and support are invaluable as we celebrate our students’ growth and accomplishments.

Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Let’s make the most of this exciting term together!

Warm regards,

Chris Murray

Acting Principal

Marrung Day Out

Koorie students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a special celebration day on Thursday 10th October 2024. This event was designed not only for Koorie students but also invited school captains from across the Casey South Network to come together in a spirit of unity and collaboration.

The celebration day served as a platform for students to engage with and deepen their understanding of Indigenous culture. Through a variety of activities, workshops, and discussions, participants explored the rich heritage, traditions, and contributions of Koorie people.

The day was not just a celebration; it provided an opportunity for students to learn from each other, foster respect, and promote a greater appreciation for cultural diversity. By bringing together Koorie students and school captains, the event aimed to build connections and encourage leadership among young people in the community.

What a fantastic day! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the festivities. The stalls were amazing, and it was clear that students, staff, and the community all had a great time. Our students did so well at their stalls, showing fantastic behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the day. A big thank you to all staff for their guidance and making the event such a huge success!
