Message from the Principal’s Office
Hi everyone,
I’m sure I’m not the only person who can’t believe we are in September already! We are flying through a brilliant term at Marnebek. We are coming towards the end of the second term in our new learning buildings and it’s been a jam-packed couple of weeks for our students right across the school.
Recently, our staff have been participating in professional learning sessions regarding positive learning environments. In particular, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) and Child Safe Standards. This time is spent learning about these areas, collaborating with colleagues and updating our school wide implementation.
Wow -The annual book week was a huge success. Students and staffed joined together to celebrate the joy of reading and this culminated in the book day dress up last Friday which created such a buzz around our school. Keep up the reading everyone!
On Thursday, we welcomed twenty year 12 students from Cranbourne East Secondary College to our New Holland Drive campus. The students are completing a community project and will be working in different classrooms over 3 days. It is fantastic to connect with our local schools and our students were very happy to see new faces around the school.
This week we held our Father’s Day stall at both of our campuses. A big thank you to School Council and in particular Donna for organising this event. We wish all of our Marnebek Dad’s and special people a brilliant day on Sunday.
Some of our Year 4/5 students have been participating in basketball in Frankston every Wednesday through our partnership with Chisolm TAFE. The students are thoroughly enjoying developing their skills through this experience and it will support them as they move into organised sporting activities as they move towards the secondary school.
Finally, in honour of father’s day, here is my favourite Dad joke………”Why don't eggs tell jokes? They'd crack each other up!”
Have a brilliant weekend.
Kind regards,
Luke Bennett | Assistant Principal | Learning Neighbourhood 2

News from 6/7C by Alex Baker
A big hello from all the staff and students in 67C.
Boy oh boy has Term 3 been a big and busy term. All of us in 67C have been working very hard across all our subjects. In Numeracy we have been learning about Place Value, Multiplication and Division which we have found difficult at times, but we will continue to show our resilience and try our best. In Literacy we have been working on writing informative texts and so far, have looked at different animals and objects. Did you know that Elephants can Elephants live anywhere from 50-70 years, or that there are more than 60 different species of Eagles around the world. Those are just two of the many different facts that we have learnt about different topics. We have been lucky enough to make a few different recipes as a part of our science and our favourites were Taco’s and Milkshakes. We have had many great opportunities to show our passion for sport with many different occasions such as Cross Country, Athletics and Friday Basketball just to name a few. Like we have said we have had a very busy term, but we have had lots of fun with the different activities and events that we have done.
Until next time, goodbye from all of us in 67C.

Every Thursday the Grade 1 students participate in the Sports Programme. The goal for this Semester was learning how to participate in structured play with their classmates. We have been participating in activities such as, ball skills, cricket and games such as What’s the time Mr Wolf. Some of our senior students usually assist us. This week we had the Year 12 students from Cranbourne East assisting our students.

GREETINGS FROM ADANAC CAMP
This week was the 8/9 camp at ADANAC. All students were excited to get away for two nights and stay with their friends in cabins. They enjoyed the lovely scenery and participated in lots of camp activities including archery, flying fox, low ropes course, camp cooking, thunder hockey and many more. It was great to see the resilience of students having a go at activities and trying new things. The students should be commended on how they supported each other and positively interacted with one and other, including peers from other classes. Many students have developed new friendships and built on their confidence. Overall, camp was an amazing success with a fantastic group of students and we are already excited for next year.
