Message from the Principal’s Office
Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Community,
The past two weeks have been filled with fantastic learning experiences and memorable moments for our students.
Student Support Group (SSG) Day
On Tuesday, we held our final SSG day for the year. Teachers had the opportunity to connect with families, where we discussed each child’s progress in line with their Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals. A big thank you to all the parents and carers - your partnership continues to make a meaningful difference in our students' learning journeys.
Years 4-12 Athletics Day
On Wednesday, we held our Years 4-12 Athletics Day at Casey Fields, and what a fantastic event it was! School pride was on full display, with students cheering each other on and giving their best effort, despite some rain in the air! Congratulations to all students and well done to the Bunjil and Waring Houses who were the joint winners with a huge 4290 points each! Thank you to all staff, particularly our dedicated PE team (Nick, Archie and Jack) for their hard work in organising this brilliant day.
Super Ride Camp
A group of senior students recently embarked on a three-day Super Ride Camp at Blackwood. After weeks of dedicated training, students achieved an impressive feat, riding a distance equivalent to traveling from Marnebek to the CBD on one of the days! Well done to the students who participated—you should be proud of your hard work and determination.

On Monday, 11th November, Marnebek School held a solemn assembly to commemorate Remembrance Day. Led by Teacher Anthony Richards, students participated via Webex in a meaningful presentation focused on honoring those who have served.
At 11am, he recited The Ode, followed by the poignant sound of The Last Post. A wreath was laid at each campus by the campus principal and student leaders, creating a moment of reflection during the minute of silence that followed. The assembly concluded with The Rouse, as everyone came together to affirm "Lest We Forget." The poem "In Flanders Fields" was recited, reinforcing the significance of the day.
We extend our gratitude to all student leaders who contributed to the wreath-laying ceremonies, including School Captains Angelina and Dylan, Vice Captains Krish and Tahlia, Corrigans Road students Hayley, Ella, Caitlyn, Charlotte, Max, Lachlan, and Michael, as well as Junior Leaders from New Holland Drive Fletcher, Akain, and Alisha.

New Holland Drive - Prep & Year 1 Brushing Teeth
This term, our Prep and Grade 1 students have been learning about an important life skill—keeping our teeth healthy!
Each week, students have been learning about the best ways to care for their teeth, focusing on brushing techniques and why it's so important to keep our smiles bright. To make learning fun, we’ve been practicing brushing our teeth and singing catchy tooth-brushing songs that help reinforce healthy habits.
Our Prep and Grade 1 students are now experts in proper brushing.
Year 4-12 Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 13th November Marnebek hosted its first annual Athletics Carnival at Casey Fields Athletics Track.
Year 4-12 students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of events throughout the day whilst representing their house colours with pride. It was a great atmosphere at the venue with many students in attendance and with the events, music, sensory space, and social spaces all a feature of the entire day. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best, but all students and staff showed great resilience and despite this there was an enormous amount of participation and excitement throughout the venue. We would love to emphasise that all students no matter their ability or interests showed great determination and attitude with their event participation throughout the day.
It was great to see many parents, carers, and guardians in attendance to give a great sense of overall community involvement in the day. We would like to thank all staff and students for all their efforts in making the Athletics Carnival a memorable one.
Cooking and Food Science Grade 2/3
This term, as part of the Grade 2 and 3 Science curriculum, we have shifted our focus to Cooking and Food Science - changes in States of Matter. This hands-on approach enables students to explore scientific concepts through the preparation of various recipes.
So far, students have successfully prepared lemon curd, toast, cookies with icing and sprinkles, and pasta. These activities have provided opportunities for them to actively engage in the cooking process, assisting their teachers, and learn essential life skills.
In the coming weeks, we plan to expand the program by making smoothies, icy poles and gingerbread. Throughout these sessions, students are encouraged to maintain high standards of hygiene and practice kitchen safety. This integrated learning approach not only enhances their understanding of scientific principles but also fosters teamwork, responsibility, and independence.
